Wonderfully balanced chassis , the third generation E46 M3, debuted in 2000 and was produced until 2006. It followed the E30 M3 and E36 M3.
Although heavier than its predecessors, it feels very light and maneuverable. Period magazines tests praised it for its nimble handling, fantastic brakes, and “incredible power delivery”.
In 2005, 333 horsepower was considered a lot, and a huge increase from the E36.
Driving it now, it’s still a great car to drive. By todays standards, it feels slow, but when driven in its own context, hardly a slow car! The engine seemingly revs forever, so it’s a joy to run through the gears.
This M3 offers a very balanced driving experience . It’s a very easy car to live with as a daily driver, or for a road trip to New England. All the while being very entertaining to drive. I always look forward to getting behind the wheel!
