The J30 launched in 1993, and was the first Infiniti newly launched since the brands introduction in 1989. It was designed in California, by the late Jerry Hirshberg, who began his career working under Bill Mitchell at GM in the 1970’s. Built in Japan for the 1993-1997 model years.
The engine is sourced from the early 1990’s Nissan 300ZX, and provides very good performance. The J30 is light by modern, mid-size luxury sedan standards, at only 3,500 lbs.
Period magazine tests praised its handling, ride comfort, and overall performance.
A touring model (J30t) was offered, that was equipped with Nissan’s Super Hicas 4 wheel steering system, normally only found on the Q45, and Nissan Skyline models of the period.
Some magazines compared its styling to Jaguar sedans of the 1960’s.
This particular car is completely stock and original, down to its factory floor mats. It has only had two owners from new, including myself. It looks and rivers like a new one!
