With 290 rear wheel horsepower, in a lightweight car with top shelf suspension and brakes , you have one of the most entertaining early 911’s feasible. Though not fast compared to a new 500hp GT3-RS, at 2,200 pounds this car can hold its own in a straight line . The chassis is super communicative , feeling like an extension of the driver in every sense, and it’s a joy on backroads.

There is no electronic babysitting here, so it demands precise driving. Which is the best of part of it in my opinion.

On a race track, the car feels equally at home. The coilover suspension allows lots of adjustability, with negligible body roll. The brakes never fade , in spite of the power delivery being able to fling the car from corner to corner. Overall, there is just no slack in this car. It just hunkers down, and gets it done!
