Derek Bennett Engineering, builder of Chevron Cars , and like Colin Chapman at Lotus Cars, he believed in “less is more”, and efficiency of a car that was as strong and lightweight as possible. No wasted space, or unnecessary weight.
The B19 is a monocoque chassis, built from sheet aluminum , similar to the way an aircraft fuselage is made. Approximately 1,150 lbs.
It has a Ford Cosworth BDG twin cam engine, displacing 2 liters.
Power is approximately 300hp at 8,500 rpm’s built by Geoff Richardson Racing Engines

The B19 was a giant killer in its day. It followed the beautiful B16 coupe, utilizing its chassis, but with a new, open car design body. One of 35 B19’s built.
Lacking the large rear wings of its later siblings , this is still very much an early sports racing car. No doubt that it is a pleasure to drive at or near the limit, with very forgiving, and near neutral chassis manners.
This Chevron was owned and raced by my Dad, Joe Buzzetta Sr., from 2001 to 2012. It sat dormant until 2022 when I purchased the car from him, and I’ve been racing it ever since.
Have made a number of improvements to the car, including better mirrors to increase visibility.
